For over 30 years Cole's of King’s Lynn in Norfolk has been at the heart of the seafood markets both locally and in the key fish markets such as Billingsgate and Grimsby and, more recently, with sources based in Scotland.
The team at Cole's have a long association with the sea, those who work on it and the delights that come out of it.
It All Started with Rosie
The company was originally started by Brian Cole in the late ‘60s. Originally, Brian owned a fishing boat called ‘Rosie’. He joined the King’s Lynn based fishing fleet that caught and sold shrimp. In those days the fleet had no way to get their catch to Billingsgate but Brian began to buy their catch rather than fish himself, so the tasty seafood got to market in time for waiting buyers.
At one time, Cole's had seventy shrimp peelers working from their Norfolk homes so that the shellfish could be caught, quickly prepared and delivered to Billingsgate within hours of being caught.

Gradually, the business grew and Brian added dressed crab to his vans regular load. As time has passed, the business had grown by word of mouth and thanks to the network established by Brian and which continues to be developed by his son, Paul, who is now general manager.
Nowadays the team is made up by expert fish filleters, drivers who select and pack the fish for delivery and administrators who keep orders and special requests organised.
